100th Anzac Anniversary Project 2015
Back in 2014, one of BLG’s members, Margaret Ferguson, had an idea to commemorate the men of Binginwarri who enlisted in WW1 and asked for approval to run it through Landcare – and she was given the okay as long as she did the work, seeing that our committee consisted of so few and had their work cut out already. She got to work with avengeance and in no time had secured various donations and then she unexpectedly and tragically died on her farm on 13th Dec 2014.
Kaye Proudley picked up the reins on this project and worked endlessly all year until the culmination of Margaret and Kaye's efforts on the 8 November 2015 when the dedication service was held followed by afternoon tea in the Bingi hall which was decked out with Anzac memorabilia.
This was a very successful day with over 80 people attending the dedication. A splendid effort by Kaye Proudley.
