Perennial herb erect and shrubby. Multi-stemmed from the base.
Height up to 1.5 metres.
Dark green leaves are stalkless and linear. Narrow up to 5 mm and up to 150mm long. Edges are slightly curved downwards (recurved) and sometimes sparsely toothed. Distinc centre vein. Underside dull blue-green with white bloom. Upper leaves smaller.
Numerous heads of daisy like flowers grouped at different levels. 4-8 per group. 8 or less (commonly 5) petals. Up to 25 mm diameter. Colour bright yellow.
November to March
Small (2mm) membrane casing containing just one seed.
Naturally occurring plants in moist foothill forest and woodland also swampy areas.
