Honeyeaters (as their name implies) feed on the nectar of flowers and hence they are commonly found where plants are in flower. They also eat insects and some insect secretions.

Eastern Spinebill, juvenile, Family Meliphagidae (Honeyeaters). These small honeyeaters with their long, down-curved beaks often hover whilst gathering nectar with their brush-tipped tongues. (AK)
